Maribel Guerrero

Arizona State University

Maribel Guerrero is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Management at the School of Public Affairs and Global Center for Technology Transfer at Arizona State University. Her main research interests are the managerial and public policy implications of entrepreneurship, technology transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Professor Guerrero is an Editor of the Small Business Economics Journal and Regional Studies Journal, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Technology Transfer and the Journal of Small Business Management, and a member of the Advisory Board of Research Policy.

Petra Andries

Ghent University

Petra Andries is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Ghent University. She conducts research in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation management and has provided companies and policy makers with advice in these domains. Petra has a particular interest in entrepreneurial decision-making and the role the entrepreneur’s context plays in this respect. She is an editor at Small Business Economics and serves on the editorial review boards of Journal of Management Studies, Long Range Planning, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.

Alessandra Scandura

University of Turin

Alessandra Scandura is associate professor of Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics Cognetti de Martiis at the University of Turin (Torino, Italy) since March 2023. She previously worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Management at the University of Bologna and as a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow. She obtained a PhD in Economic Geography from the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2015. Her research interests include Economics of Innovation, Eco-innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Local Economic Development. She carries out empirical investigations of the patterns of innovative activities and knowledge creation across firms, sectors and regions. Her articles have been published in leading field journals such as Research Policy, the Journal of Technology Transfer, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Regional Studies, and Ecological Economics. Besides various EU and national funded projects, she is currently involved in the GRINS (Growing Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable) project funded by the Next Generation EU program (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).

Christopher Hayter

Georgia Institute of Technology

Chris Hayter is Associate Professor with the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on academic entrepreneurship, non-academic career transitions among university postdocs, and the performance of entrepreneurship development programs. Chris serves as a senior consultant for the World Bank and co-founded a software startup. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was on faculty at Arizona State University for nine years and spent 15 years prior working as a science and entrepreneurship policy advisor with organizations such as the National Academies, Council of Competitiveness, National Governors Association, and New York Academy of Sciences.

Hugo Loosvelt

VUB TechTransfer

Hugo Loosvelt has been a technology transfer officer at Vub Technology Transfer of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel since 2006. He manages the patent portfolio of the university in close collaboration with the inventors and research teams involved. Hugo Loosvelt negotiates R&D contracts and licensing contracts with VUB’s industrial partners and spin-offs. Hugo Loosvelt is actively involved in creating awareness within the VUB science community about IP and entrepreneurship. He is recognised as a registered technology transfer professional by the Alliance of technology transfer professionals (ATTP). He graduated as an industrial engineer in industrial chemistry and obtained his PhD in physics.

Myriam Dieleman

Myriam Dieleman is a seasoned professional in health promotion and innovation. Since November 2020, she has been an Advisor within the lifetech.brussels cluster team. In this role, she is responsible for cluster animation, providing business guidance to startups, organizing networking and knowledge-sharing events, leading the MedTech Accelerator project, and spearheading international missions to promote health innovation.

Einar Rasmussen

Nord University Business School

Einar Rasmussen is Professor at Nord University Business School, Norway, and Nottingham University Business School, UK. He has been visiting scholar at the Universities of Ghent, Bologna, Twente, Strathclyde, and Nottingham. His research interests include entrepreneurial processes, academic entrepreneurship, and university-industry technology transfer. He has managed several research and development projects funded by research councils, ministries and government agencies. He publishes journals such as Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Academy of Management Perspectives, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Small Business Economics, and Journal of Technology Transfer.
